Puerto Vallarta Info

Travelling to Puerto Vallarta…..here are some photos and reviews of properties in the Puerto Vallarta area.

4 1/2* PALLADIUM VALLARTA

This resort is located in Vallarta Nayarit, about an hours bus ride from the airport.

This hotel is quite large and even has a small zoo area in the centre of the resort.  The waves were great for boogy boarding AND surfers came from all over to ride the waves in front of the hotel.
There is a great infinity pool above the beach area for adults only – an excellent treat at the end of the day to stand at the edge of the warm pool, looking over the beach to the ocean and sippin’ a margarita!

This property has lots of stairs but has a great layout.  The food is very good!  The A la carte restaurants and beach barbecue were very good.  The buffet is very large, downside is that it is located back from the beach area in the center of the property so there is no view from there.

Although this hotel is located outside of the main Hotel area in Puerto Vallarta it is easy to catch the local bus to the town of Bucerias for some great shopping in the little market!

4 1/2* BARCELO PUERTO VALLARTA

This hotel is located about 45 minutes from the airport, going South, past the hotel zone.  It’s on a very small beach area where the movie “Night of the Iguanas” was filmed (Richard Burton & Elizabeth Taylor’s old home is a short stroll away).

The typical junior suites in this property are very large.  There is an area when you first enter that has a sofa/murphy bed and tv.  There is also another sofa on the other side of the room near the patio.  The bathrooms are large with fantastic rain showers and nice amenities.

The pool areas are quite large and spacious with lots of flowers and plants and waterfalls.  There are plenty of shady spots and unfortunately I did see plenty of “chair saving” but we always managed to find a chair.  There was drink service at the lounge chairs.  The buffet restaurant was on the water and made for great views for any meal.  There was also a nice patio a la carte restaurant for lunch that was delicious ~ a nice change to be able to order from a menu for lunch!
